The Mission of the Lassen Land & Trails Trust is to conserve significant natural areas & agricultural landscapes, and to promote and enhance a public trail system throughout Lassen County.

Staff

Louise Jensen, Executive Director

Louise recently relocated to Reno from the east and brings a diverse range of skills and experience from both the public and private sectors to the Trust. Prior to her move west, she served as the Executive Director of a regional non-profit providing energy services. She also served as Associate Director of Preservation for The Garden Conservancy, a national organization preserving exceptional designed landscapes for the public’s enjoyment and education. Amy Holmen, Lands Manager

Amy grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she majored in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Science. After college, she returned to New Mexico where she worked on a National Preserve and volunteered with local conservation groups. She also worked in Alturas, CA for the Bureau of Land Management doing native seed collection as part of the National Native Plant Materials Development Program. In her position as Lands Manager, she is responsible for stewardship policy and conservation activities, including land acquisition projects and conservation easements. Jessie Gibbs, Outreach Coordinator

Jessie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Science with an option in Land Stewardship from CSU, Chico in 2007.  She has over 4 years of experience in riparian habitat restoration and student outreach in the Sacramento Valley.  She uses her qualifications in biology, education, and GIS in her position as the Outreach Coordinator.  Jessie loves working with the public and is responsible for managing membership and Lassen Land and Trails Trust education events.  Contact Jessie at projects@llttweb.org or by calling 257-3252.

David Sowers, Depot Manager

David worked for Sierra Pacific Industries from 1976 to 2002.  He grew up in a railroad family and was naturally interested in volunteering his services to help at the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot beginning in 1990.  He served on the Board of Directors from 1997 to 2002 and became a staff member in 2007.  He maintains the Depot, provides visitor services, manages the farmers market, and coordinates the Rails to Trails Festival.  David loves working at the Depot and greeting visitors.  Contact David at dpsowerslltt@frontier.com or by calling 257-3252.
